Boy Meets Girl

His version - Picture it! One of the most popular clubs in D.C. I see this sexy woman walking around looking like she wants someone to talk to. So I put her out of her misery and asked her to dance. I gave her my number and she called right away. She couldn't resist. The rest is history.

Her version (a.k.a. The truth) - I was out with one of my best friends celebrating my birthday. I decided to get up and walk around. This guy approaches me. He was probably stalking me from another table. He asks me to dance. He talked more than he danced. We sat and talked for a while. He was quite entertaining. He gave me his number because I wouldn't give him mine. I called him a week or so later. He took the reigns and pursued me with all of his might. He got my attention.

We were married Thanksgiving weekend 2005 after dating for about a year plus. As newlyweds we did not know what life had in store, we were positive and excited. But life happened. We dealt with illnesses and deaths that rocked our newly wed world. Some of these events delayed our childbearing and perhaps made it nearly impossible, naturally.

So now we are here and God has placed it in our hearts to be parents, but through adoption. We have accepted this call and we are thrilled and ready for this awesome ride of parenthood.
